Reward for safe return/ reward for local assistance in rescuing Puckie. Yellow cockatiel is currently in a pine tree in Peachtree City, Georgia. I failed to notice that the plastic brackets on her travel condo attaching the bottom of the cage were gone, possibly destroyed by the cockatiel. She seemed to anticipate me moving the travel cage and flew away in a split second into the closest tree. For 3 years, my female cockatiel has escaped while fertile and returned to me to lay eggs in her cage. She is 4.5 years old. She has in the past managed to undo combo luggage locks, and also chew sticks and use them to wedge open the door of an outdoor aviary. Her wings are not clipped, because she has escaped with clipped wings and still ended up in a tree top. Another cockatiel (especially a male), or a baby bird of any small species would be useful in convincing her to return home, before she is injured. I am devastated with fear something will happen to my baby. Her birthday is April 4, 2011. She escaped with partially clipped wings earlier this year, and something tried to eat her and pulled her underwater. It took me nearly half an hour to find her. Her life was saved that time by Esplanade Veterinary Clinic in Louisiana. I didn’t waste 45 seconds to even grab my valuables/wallet, which were returned to me by a kind family. Even though the vet said there was no prognosis, and it was unlikely she would survive, the vet successfully restored her to perfect health. She is currently healthy and in earshot answering to her name, but has not returned from the pine tree. She has in the past flown miles when startled, and gone to other people other than me. She has in the past been rescued from sandwich and donut shops and three times from children’s birthday parties. She is totally unfamiliar with the neighborhood she is in and might not be able to find her way back to me if she flies far. She is allergic to avocado and eats mostly sprouts and organically grown bird seed while it is still green. She has had bird sitters when I work long hours. She has had the best vet care and habitat I can provide. I desperately want my little baby to be rescued and safely return home.
