My Timneh African Grey, Dusty, caught some wind and unexpectedly flew this afternoon around 3:15pm. I live in the neighborhood behind Double Decker Pizza on 202 and Beaver Valley in Chadds Ford. Dusty has never flown in the 12 years he’s been my companion. I think he got spooked and a breeze helped him. He glides very well, apparently. He is frightened of people he doesn’t know and shouldn’t be approached as he might scare further away. He clicks, beeps, calls many bird songs, and does the catcall whistle and another whistle…I can only explain it as the “come here” whistle. He does have a band for identification. If anyone spots him, please call or text me at 610-662-0251 any time. He’s grey, with a light grey belly and face. He has a red-toned beak, and dark maroon tail feathers.
