Our 2 cockatiels are still lost, have been missing since July 28, 2015. Sydney is a normal gray cockatiel, gray body & wings with white tips, chest is a pearl gray, bright yellow head with orange cheeks, yellow crest top of head. He turned 17 years old this year. We’ve had him since he was 6 weeks old. Light color beak & feet. Talks, sings part of laurel & hardy & andy griffith themes. His whistle sounds strange because we can’t whistle right, so he and daffy learned our weird whistle. Sydney, like all cockatiels, has 2 longest tail feathers, one on top of the other. They molt them one at a time, usually about 6 to 8 months apart. But Sydney molts his every 3 months. Daffy is now 5 years old. His description is about the same, but he is pied meaning he has some yellow barring marks on some feathers. Also his tail feathers are very dark gray, almost black. He talks, whistles like Sydney. They both are used to being out of cage all day, flying by us, playing giving kisses, and eat some people food. Like veggies especially peas &corn, they eat the insides. Also love pasta. Main diet is cockatiel seed, also like pellets (multi-colored fruity tiny round nutrient for birds) sold at pet stores in bulk like pet world, but they like them as a treat. And millet spray. And, they, especially Sydney, are very attached to a mirror. For the 1st 4 years of Sydney’s life, he was our only bird, and the mirror image was his best friend. He loves us and the other cockatiels we later bought, but has always been very attached to a mirror, and I don’t think he would be happy without one. We have one in his cage, outside it, and he looks at his reflection in other shiny things too. He also loves playing with bell. I am telling you this in case someone has him or Daffy, that you know these facts about either of them that will make a difference in their happiness, and probably cause both of them less stress and a longer life. They probably were found (I hope) in south milwaukee, oak creek, st. francis or cudahy. They could have flown farther too, but I heard cockatiels usually fly away at most a few miles away. Sydney usually flies on your shoulder, Daffy on heads. If you have either of them or know someone who has found such a bird, please call us. REWARD for safe return. thank you
