Bird was found outside on 63rd St. in Fort Hamilton Parkway in Brooklyn New York a neighbor called me to come and take the bird to care for it until I can find its owners I’ve posted all over Facebook and Instagram and to the bird groups that groups that I am a member of in Facebook to try to get the word out. The bird is in a spare cage that I own as I have 2 Sparrow babies of my own (New Bird is Quarantined not in same room as my sparrows). The bird is currently eating birdseed’s with Harrison’s pellets and zupreem fruit pellets, drinking water with vita drops however I do believe the bird possibly had a seizure in my hand yesterday as soon got him home and into the spare cage he ate seeds and drank water I went to pick him up to see what was going on with him he climbed on my hand and then started to climb on the bar of the cage and then with one foot in my hand he completely froze in my hand and his foot locked on the bar of the cage has to be 10 seconds I had to gently open the birds back toe to unlock it from the cage and I held the bird in my hand for about two minutes and it looked as though the bird was passing I went to gently put the bird down and it jumped back up as if nothing ever happened (scared me to pieces but I was happy he was alive) to my knowledge I have not witnessed the bird do this again during monitoring him but he does twitch ever so often while awake and sleeping, and has been very sleepy he was falling asleep yesterday in his seed tray ( not doing it anymore I think he was exhausted yesterday). Right now I have a heating pad providing heat to half the cage floor his poop is not runny or watery small poo but nice amount of Uric acid with brown poo I called my vet the day he was handed to me to care for until I find his home but my vet is not in until Monday. I’m praying that no one set him loose because they seen he had some type of neurological issue and just neglected this baby. Having faith in humanity and Hoping someone is missing him and is trying to find him too, until then he will be under my care > safe and loved 🥰 Not sure if I would be able to permanently take on this baby because I currently have 2 sparrows, 2 cats, 2 turtles,1 rabbit 1 huge goldfish and 2 human kids > but for the time being this baby is more than welcome to stay until his home is found or his new perfect forever home is found ❤️
