Good day Caro and Josée!It has been a while since we have been in touch. I wanted to share some good news with you.

My missing sun conure Jo Jo has been found :) Toronto Animal Services contacted me in August (2012) about a bird that was returned to them and asked me to identify if the bird was indeed mine. The bird returned by a someone who lived a few blocks north of my home. They saw him in a nearby park in the trees.

When I visited Toronto Animal Services it was difficult to be certain that the conure was mine because there appeared to be a few changes – mannerisms, clipped feathers, different colour feathers.. He was clearly mistreated. My family had no doubts, but I needed a few weeks to sure, but know that he is ours now. Since Jo’s return home, he rarely goes near the doorway without accompanying someone (before he would wander to the door and window on his own). We believe that this may be because he’s afraid of being outside again. He also prefers to spend more time in or near his cage, but day-by-day he is becoming more sociable.

I’m writing you to thank you for your advice, support and your follow-up messages. I appreciate everything that you have done to help Jo Jo come home.

Best,
Tasha Williams
