Beaco is an unbanded green cheek conure with his turquoise flight wings in tact. He is very tame and very attached to us. He had many, many opportunities to fly away, BUT he never did, so we suspect he was frightened away by something and then because of the strong wind from the approaching Hurricane Sandy might not have been able to navigate back to us. He often sat on my shoulder as I gardened or walked the dog and he frequently sunned himself on top of his outdoor cage. In nice weather he had daily opportunity to fly away, but he never strayed off our back porch.

Beaco loves to eat peanut butter, goldfish crackers, little pieces of apple, and he will only eat the safflower seeds out of a seed mix. He especially loves a shot glass of orange juice. He is very affectionate and talks quite a bit when he is happy. He says “step up” or “please step up” and “hey, baby” and says his name “Beaco” or often “BeacoBeaco.” He vocalizes what seems like paragraphs of sounds, but we can’t figure out what he is saying! He loves to dance if you put on music, bobbing his head to the beat and prancing and bobbing back and forth.

IF you have found Beaco and have perhaps fallen in love with him, that’s okay. We would just love to know he is safe and found a nice new home, or we would be very happy to bring him home again! We miss him.

Sincerely,
L. Roberts
