Hi Retta, I am the former 911PA volunteer who was asked to take in a found cockatiel for a neighbor in the Seattle area around 8/27. I reported the bird on 911PA over a week ago. NOt many leads yet, but the bird is doing much better. I took the bird in for a vet check and he was pretty skinny and had E. coli. He has been recovering in my house under heat and on antibiotics, eating up a storm, and he looks great!

I have not made great progress in finding the owner but got a new lead tonight from a person who listed their lost bird on 911PA back in June. I learned that this bird and its family were reunited – this is Bean the cockatiel, reported missing in the Seattle area around 6/5/11. Bean’s mom gave me a number she saw on a sign in her nieghborhood. I am going to try it tomorrow.
Best regards,
Ann S.

He’s a male cockatiel, about 5 years old. He’s very used to people and would stand on your finger if you approached him slowly and and spoke softly, whistled or made kissing sounds. He would also approach if you held a mirror so he can see himself.

He was outside in his cage getting some sun and someone accidentally left it open when they changed his water. He’s been missing since Sunday afternoon on June 5. We live in Shoreline, WA near 145th.
