We had lost our Sitara on July 21st. She was sitting on my husbands shoulders as she usually does. we had invited some friends over and i believe someone spooked her and she flew away. We ran after her but she was nowhere to be found. we looked around for hours. We could not sleep at night just thinking what she may be going through. My husband woke up early next morning and went searching for her. We took turns looking for her and calling out her name desperately hoping she would respond back, we searched till late at night. Sunday night was the worst night for me> it was raining hard and i could not imagine how our baby was surviving away from her home with no food or water and rain pouring on her little head, by this time i was completely broken, i cried myself to bed and told my husband that we may never see her again. He was always so hopeful, he kept telling me not to give up and that he will continue looking for her till he finds her. Next morning my phone rang, My husband was calling me. it was 10.00am Monday morning, i answered my phone and i heard his exciting voice ‘Honey i found Sitara’ please send Raymond (my nephew) with a long ladder…I couldn’t believe what i was hearing. we went to where my husband was waiting…Few streets away from us in the wilderness where there was just trees and vegetation with no houses around there. There she was of course at the very top of the tallest tree there1 we couldn’t reach her with the ladder. We tried telling her to come to us but she was so scared. She kept flapping her wings but wouldn’t let go of the branch. Finally i clapped my hands and called her with a lot of excitement in my voice “Situ, come come come…. ” and the flew to the lower branch, my husband grabbed her and started kissing her….OMG I thanked God for reuniting us. I asked my husband how he found her . He had been looking for her since 6.00am went through all the trees in the area, Finally he was calling for her and he thought he heard her voice, he stopped and thought he was imagining things, he whistled and he heard her again , making rocket sounds like she usually does, he went deeper into the bushes and called her by her name and he could not believe what he heard, she said ‘Goooood Morniiiing, I looove you, he looked up and there she was flapping her wings at him…

I am sorry for the long story. For those who have lost their birds, please don’t give up.There are always chances of miracles happening, Sitara is home now. She had been very hungry and thirsty. she looks really shaken up but now sleeping peacefully.
