Just writing to let you know that Charlie got home yesterday afternoon. A little bedraggled, and I think he might’ve picked up some mites, but safe and sound.

He’d flown a mile and a half to Woodford. A couple spotted him in their back garden on Monday afternoon being attacked by a flock of small birds. They shooed the birds away and fed him, and he came back yesterday afternoon. They called an animal sanctuary for advice, which happened to be one of the many I had contacted, and they got in touch with me to tell me where he was. I left work to go and get him, and the nice gentleman had managed to catch him for me by the time I got there (And not without quite a nasty nip to one of his fingers, might I add =P). I’m absolutely over the moon. It’s such a load off.

I’ve got him booked in at his vet tomorrow afternoon for a once over just to make sure he’s not picked up anything nasty while he’s been out, or been damaged in some way that I can’t tell just by looking, but he seems well enough in himself, and very content and happy to be home.

Thank you for all your help and suggestions. The response from everybody has been absolutely overwhelming, and I couldn’t have got through the last few days without all the support I’ve had.

Chris

Typical African grey colouring. All grey with a red tail. Missing some feathers around the back of his neck which have never grown. Can say his name and some other basic vocab.
