MIAMI (WSVN) -- Peaches, the cockatoo stolen from the front porch of a South Florida
home, is back with her rightful owner thanks to a pet detective.

After being missing for almost two months, Ivone Magarin is thankful to be
reunited with her beloved pet cockatoo. "And I thought, she's not going to
come back home and now she's back with me," she said.

A pet detective told Magarin he would not stop looking for Peaches
until he found her.

In November, surveillance video captured a man jump Margarin's fence and take off
with the $2,000 cockatoo in it's cage. The man is seen on surveillance removing the
cage from the porch and violently pushing it over the fence to another man.

After this scare, Magarin says she will keep a closer eye on Peaches. "That's it,
no more front porch," she said. "Only when I'm home and I'm outside with her.
Other than that, she'll be in the house now

MIAMI (WSVN) — Police are searching for the crooks who took off with a cockatoo from the front yard of a South Florida home.

Ivone Margarin’s cockatoo would spend every morning on her front yard watching people pass by. “She would be here every morning, every morning,” said Margarin.

Surveillance video captured a man during the day jump Margarin’s fence and take off with her $2,000 cockatoo in it’s cage. “It’s a shame. Bright light, they just come in my yard, and they just took her away. It’s not right,” she said.

The man is seen on surveillance removing the cage from the porch and violently pushing it over the fence to another man. Margarin said goes to sleep every night worried about her bird. “Every night I got to sleep, and I just think about how she’s doing, how are they treating her, if she’s eating,” she said.

Margarin says she just wants whoever took her cockatoo to return it. “I want my bird back to my house, that’s all I want. I won’t press charges. All I want is my bird back,” said Margarin.

If you have any information on these crooks, call Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers at 305-471-TIPS. Remember, you can always remain anonymous, and you may be eligible for a reward.
