My African Grey Parrot, Miko, flew out my front door as it was closing on Saturday, Sept. 1, 2012 around 2pm. I raised him from a hatchling. He’s 7 ½ years old. Sex is not confirmed by DNA. I asked him one day if he was a good boy or a good girl and he said he was a good boy. He never laid an egg, so I assumed his response was correct. I love him and miss him very much. His distinct markings are thin feathers in his chest area (picks there sometimes) and his beak is a little jagged, not real smooth. He’s never had a band on his ankle. When comfortable, he will talk. He loves apples, and uses the word Apple in many of his sentences. “Your so pretty”, “buki-bird” (my other bird), “miko-bird”, “pretzel”, will sing “boom-boom pow” from the black-eyed peas. And, knows the Andy Griffith show song (whistle), and will pick up where you leave off. You may hear him say “Chris” or “Chelsea”, my children’s names. Kiana, Jake or Luke, or “minx-minx”. And, many sound-effects, too many to mention. PLEASE contact me at 954-319-0705, jbrownim-at-aol.com, if you have found him or have seen him in the Cooper City / Davie, FL area! Thank you so much!
