Lindsey (ONE OF 2 LOST) is a normal gray cockatiel with white and yellow trim and orange cheeks. She escaped from my car near a QT gas station at Miller and Shiloh Rd. Two flock mates escaped with Lindsey and one was recovered within a few blocks of above location. Lindsey is much more flighted than the recovered bird and may travel further. A bird matching Lindsey’s description was found in less than two hours of the escape and very near Miller and Shiloh. The original finder of the bird acted in good faith and gave information to me that was key to the recovery of Lindsey’s flock mate. Unfortunately he was not equipped to care for a bird so before any potential owners were able to inspect the bird it was claimed for safekeeping by someone who now refuses to communicate with potential owners and has actually blocked routes of communication. I consider that cockatiel to be a stolen bird at this point. I pray my Lindsey is not that bird but it is hard not to suspect that it is. If anyone finds a cockatiel please contact Garland Animal Shelter and don’t hand it over to someone for safe keeping. Lindsey and my other missing bird will be very friendly and fly to you willingly. Thank you.
