“Birdy” is an 8 year old Peach Faced Lovebird who flew away from 13th and Haskell in Lawrence Kansas on Wednesday, December 9 at about 7:45 PM. She is bright green with a peach colored face and breast. She has brilliant blue and purple tail feathers. There is a small crack in the tip of her beak. She talks and whistles. She may call, ‘Christie’ or ‘Baby’ when she wants attention. She also says, ‘Come here’ and ‘Pretty Bird’, ‘Gimme a kiss!’, and even ‘Dammit’. She screeches louder than most outdoor birds. In the featured picture, she is sitting on my friend’s head. She may come to you and land on you. She will usually bite when you try to pet her or handle her. She does not bite when she is just sitting on you. She will not jump on your finger and seems to prefer to stand on clothing rather than skin.
