VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. (WOFL FOX 35) – Daytona Beach firefighters rescued an exotic bird that was stranded in a tree a city hall and now are looking for the owner.

The Blue-and-Gold Macaw was at the top of a 30-foot tree. A ladder truck was deployed from nearby Station #1 and firefighter Anthony Russo gently coaxed the apparent pet onto his hand and slowly climbed down the ladder with the bird alternating between his hand and shoulder.
The friendly bird is now at the fire station on Beach Street, and the fire department is seeking the bird’s owner.

Anyone with information is asked to call the fire department at 671-4000. The bird has an identification band on its leg.
