I was in the Bronx River Road Playground (just by the Wakefield exit of the Bronx River Parkway) today, July 9th. The bird was definitely an all yellow parakeet (not canary) and was in the tree inside the playground area near the benches & swings. This was around 3:00 pm. She stayed in the tree all the time, moving upwards when it was getting late (about 5:30 pm). She seemed very healthy and vocal (like she hadn’t been outside too long).
I hope someone catches her…she’s a beautiful bird.
