A week ago, a cockatiel landed on the shoulder of one of our students after school. It is very tame. I’ve been watching it and giving it lots of attention but I cannot keep the bird. It is very healthy, friendly, loves to perch on my shoulder while I type away on the computer. I have put “FOUND: BIRD” ads in our local newspaper, at the local animal shelter, and here on Craigslist. Its leg is unbanded so I believe the bird was home-bred and handfed. I can’t believe someone let this little gem just fly off. I will include the cage (I used to have cockatiels so I had the cage). These birds can be more like family members than pets and they live a long time, if cared for properly.
