My Mom’s Blue & Gold Macaw was stolen. If anyone knows of or hears of someone getting a new Macaw within the last 5 months, please have them get the bird checked for a microchip. The Oliver RCMP detachment has been notified, and they will be pursuing it. Please call them if you have any information. 250 498 3422. An alert has been placed with all vets in Alberta and BC. Mom believes the person who took the bird may have brought her to Alberta. She is approximately 17-19 years old. Missing from Oliver BC on or about December 16, 2016. Not banded, but does have a microchip in her breastbone area. Not very tame. She can say some words like Hello, but not Goodbye. She will pin her eyes when saying “hello”. She will open her wings either partially or fully if asked to do Angel Wings or Pretty Wings.
