Our light green gray winged budgie (bright yellow) with pale blue cheek dots flew onto and off of my head as I went out the door to water my planters on Wednesday, July 22nd. ‘Thistle’ has been with our family for just under one year and had already escaped one home which we could not find the owners for and she became very much a part of our family. She is not banded, but is very tame, she talks (“Pretty bird, come here Thistle, Close the door” for example, kisses, lands on heads, shoulders, will often come when called and a finger is held up. She loves eggs and lettuce and often tried to mooch food from us. We tried for 8 1/2 hours to coax her back home with whistling, calling, showing her cage and ringing her bell, offering an egg listening to her call back over and over throughout the day…. and were within 2’ of her a number of times but she would not come and flew away. We are very sad and keep praying that our little family member will somehow land on someone who will see the ads.
