Please be on the lookout for my pet Starling, Rocco. He flew out of my back porch door Wednesday morning (10/22/25). He has done this a few times but would circle the yard and come back to me. This time he cut the corner of the house and flew towards my front yard out of my sight. He has always been inside, so I’m not sure how far he has traveled.
He’s 4 months old and I’ve raised him since he was a week old nestling. He’s very much human imprinted and most likely will search for humans for food and shelter. His favorite foods are blueberries and shredded chicken. He chatters a lot and just learned his first words “Give me a kiss” then makes a smooch sound.
I’m worried sick at the thought of him being lost, cold, or in harm’s way. He would be an easy target for cats and other predators as he is very domesticated. Rocco is my baby and I just want him to find his way back to me safely.
I have relentlessly been calling around for him and searching. His cage is placed outside with food and a light on it. He may be hesitant to come to you since he has only been handled by me. If you see him, please call/text 318-366-9416 immediately.
