After searching this morning I created ads for the newspaper, several on-line websites, Twitter and made posters that I was going to distribute around town. Around 2pm I got a call from a man with a long, long story about finding a bird. No matter how many times I begged him to tell me if Kiwi was alive and if he had him, he insisted upon telling me the story. ????
To make a long story short, Kiwi was a block away and flew right into his Mother’s deck canopy and fell on his sister then hopped up on the man who realized that he was “an exotic” and called his daughter in Texas via Skype who told him what Kiwi was and what to do. Evidently he found him yesterday afternoon and kept him over night and called the Surrey SPCA…where I picked him up. Once I settled Kiwi in I called him but he wasn’t in. I really want to hear his story now. He found me by calling the paper that I had just placed an ad in. Another miracle from God!
When I first saw him and called his name he answered. He has’`t said anything else since coming home but he is eating a little and drinking. Right now he is sleeping. We are not out of the woods yet and I am taking him to the vet tomorrow for a check up.
Thank you for your help. Please let everyone know that they have to work hard, cover every avenue and get the word out. I lost almost ten pounds walking and walking and walking. I call it the Kiwi diet.
