Email received at Perroquetsecours from owner :

We lost her Friday night (September 28) when the Pizza man made a delivery. Next morning (Saturday September 29)my husband found her in a yard not far from ours. We spend an hour trying to coax her down from the tree. She found a yard with bird seed, water etc. (bird paradise). She was coming down to us but got spooked and flew away. In the afternoon the bird in the house started to squeal and our dog run to the screen door barking. My neighbour seen her fly real low by our house and my husband also heard her. Later my husband went out looking for her and found her a few blocks away in a tree. After lots of coaxing she came down and almost landed on his head but got spooked by the dog. She then flew closer to home and someone spotted her go into a tree. A crow started to chase her up the tree and my husband had to chase the crow away. He came home and got me and the other cockatiel and after 40 minutes of coaxing and me on the ground with the other bird in the cage she came down. She is so happy to be home and has not stopped eating.

We are very lucky to have her home because I have been told that there is only a 2% chance of them getting back home.

Last night Friday September 28 our cockatiel (grey and yellow speckeled) escaped out the door.  This morning we saw her in a tree on Simon Fraser but she got spooked and flew towards Landsdale.  Please keep an eye out for her.  She will be very scared, but she is a hand fed bird and very tame. Please call if you see her.   Her name is Tilly.  Thank you and please pass the word if you live in this area.
