Thanks to a 911 Parrot Alert volunteer, PeeWee is now home! Ellen posted PeeWee’s story on craigslist and a park ranger at Chatfield Reservoir in Roxborough Park saw and followed up on the ad. She had a sun conure turned in a few days earlier (found by campers) and she had brought the bird to the Denver Dumb Friends League in Castle Rock.

Ellen visited PeeWee after she was home (and brought a big old sprig of millet spray) and is happy to report she doesn’t look any worse for the wear! Whoo hoo! We need a LOT more of thest stories, people.

PeeWee is about 4 years old. His wings are not clipped. He was last seen perched on the top branch of 40 foot cottonwood tree in the Ken Caryl Ranch (Littleton, CO) neighborhood the evening of June 27. He makes the usual flocking calls morning and evening. He flew when harassed by several robins. He has never been outdoors out of his cage before. He loves sunflower seeds. He is a strong flyer from what we’ve seen.
