One of my birds (answers to “Birdingo”); who is a normal/pied handraised cockatiel, slipped out of her cage and flew into the tall pines on our property on Eastford Rd. (closest to the corner of 198 and 244) on the night of 9-16. On Monday she spent the day flying between the tallest trees circling our house, talking back and fourth with the other birds I have here. She kept staying very high up way beyond our reach, I didn’t call the fire dept. because I figured they would laugh at me. 🙁 I usually have her wings clipped so she never has flew like this before, and I don’t think she understands how to come down from so high. This Tuesday morning (9-18) we heard her on the southern side of the forest nearest to our house, and that was the last I heard her voice. I think the windy weather blew her too far out of reach to hear us calling her and also the calls from my other birds. Birdingo is a very special bird and is loved very much by me and my family, we are willing to give a reward to anyone who can find her and return her home. She is distinct from wild birds as she is bright yellow with a long crest and hooked beak. She loves people and has a very loud parrot squawk, especially when her name is called. Since she got loose on Sunday night, she is probably very hungry and tired, if not already perishing out there somewhere. But I can’t give up there. Even if you see a glimpse of her, please call, and tell everyone you know to be conscious of this. You can reach me anytime at (860)753-2172. Thank you!
Sincerely,
