  • Species: African Grey - Congo (See species list for details)
  • Location: Bellaire, Michigan, United States 49615
  • Date Lost: April 28, 2014
  • Banded: Yes
  • Microchipped: Don't Know

His name is WIley. He is a bit shy around new people, but very talkative when he gets to know you. He plays “peek-a-boo” if you start moving your head around, and he plays “knock-knock” if you knock on something within his earshot. He likes crackers, and will say “cracker?” if he sees you opening a box of snack regardless of the type of snack. Also, if you whistle a short tune, he usually responds. He is banded. He is not afraid of people, but is often afraid of things that are bigger than he is. He will step up very easily for just about anyone, but I don’t really know if he will if he’s frightened. He has never bitten anyone to my knowledge, but, once again, I do not know how he will react if he’s frightened.

If he is afraid of you for whatever reason, he will shy away if you’re too close. He may also whistle loudly starting from a high note then down to a low note, like the sound of something falling in a cartoon. He isn’t one to turn down a bribe, so if you have some crackers or a small amount of cheese, he will most likely take it.

He was last seen in the early afternoon of April 28, 2014. If you find him or think that you see him, please contact us at 1-231-676-1680. If you are unable to reach us there, leave us a text message. Also, contacting us on Facebook on our rescue page (https://www.facebook.com/CrossroadsBirdHaven) is a very safe bet. We will probably be on frequently during the next few days while we try to track down Wiley. Ask around for Tracey or Alan.

Thanks so much for your help!
