Our baby answers either to Quijote (kee-ho-tay), Dodies (Doh-dees), or Dodes. Responds well to “peekaboo” and kissy noises. May curse at you while grumbling. A bit nippy but mostly tame. We lost him at Noblett Lake Campground Missouri at the dock by the dam. We tracked him uphill for a day and a half before we lost him. He’s probably very thirsty and hungry and scared. He’s afraid of heights and the dark and doesn’t like to be too far from us. His favorite lullaby is “sweet baby James” but if he’s too upset it doesn’t work. We’re still looking for him around the campground every day. We’re hoping he comes to someone or somebody sees him. He has a very high pitched fierce little cry and doesn’t sound like the other birds around. He can’t get directly down from high places easily since he’s an awkward flier. Fully flighted. PLEASE HELP! We’re very worried about him.
We don’t have cell service at the lake but I will check my email and text every night after sundown.
