Hello, Please Help find our Chicken that escaped from her closed Coop!  She is a Pale Yellow (Buff) color and is a Crested Polish Hen that lays narrow white eggs–She looks ALOT like a pale yellow Big Bird (like on Sesame Street) with Wild Feathers on her Head and is quite skinny!
She has been raised from a chick by my daughter, and is Very Friendly and Tame–she will come right up and start pecking around your feet–our other 2 chickens will run away like you are going to eat them, but not Chocobo.  Her clucking can sound quite loud (esp in the morning while she lays an egg), kind of like: “Bock-bock-BOCK-aaa–SQUAAAWCK”.  She is NOT a rooster, so don’t expect any cock-o-doodling…
We live in a wooded hillside area around 25th and 26th Ave West and between Barrett and Fulton Streets.  There are a lot of Raccoons and pet dogs around, so we aren’t holding out with much hope, since she is so tame and not used to living wild.  I am hoping she might just have gotten lost after a caregiver (probably)left the coop door open on Friday sometime while the family was out of town, and maybe is trapped in your backyard or wandering around lost…
If you see her, or see any (gulp!) evidence (feathers/carcass) that she was there, please contact our family so we can know.  If she is still alive and kicking, please offer her some WATER in a bowl ASAP, and maybe some bread, bird seed, or fruit or veggie scraps.  Once she is near you, you can just pick her up and tuck her under your arm, while holding her feet firmly.  Stick her in a box or something and we will come get her and be in your debt forever….
Thanks so much!!
