Ichi is a young (4 months old) female Cockatiel, normal grey with some yellow on back of head and neck. She is wearing a band from DJ Feathers Aviary. Ichi has full flight. Ichi flew off from Regent’s Park Apartment complex near the intersection of Lee Hwy & S. Nutley in Fairfax, VA. It was dark at the time, so no direction of flight was observed. A four hour foot search that evening failed to locate her. The entire next day also failed to turn up any sign of her. It is unknown how far from our home she flew that evening. Local vets, pet supply stores, & Fairfax County humane society animal shelter were alerted, along with Phoenix Landing parrot shelter in Arlington, VA and DJ Feathers Aviary in Chantilly, VA.
Ichi has never been outside until the evening of 6 December when she flew out a partially open door at our home. Ichi is very friendly and very vocal. She is accustomed to being around three other Cockatiels.
