Sylvester is a three year old cockatiel. He has very ragged feathers on his chest and on his back due to a nasty chewing habit we’ve been trying to break. The vet ruled out bacterial/viral infections and helped determine it was a behavioral issue early on. He is molting right now, so his feathers look especially funny. He has some pin feathers growing in just above his nose.
The feathers on his back underneath his wings are sparse, but doing better than they had been.
Sylvester’s wings are lightly clipped just so that he can’t zip around as fast, but aren’t clipped so much that he can’t fly.
He has no ankle bracelet. His nails have not been trimmed in a while.
