Letter, 8/25: Still searching for Opus  escaped from his Meadowlane home

Opus is a Timneh African grey parrot who’s been missing from his home of 24 years since June 30.

Opus has been seen and heard several times in the past month in a broad,

but defined, area near the zoo and surrounding neighborhoods, extending mostly to the south and west.

REWARD!! LOST AFRICAN GREY TIMNEH PARROT Tame, likes children and adults and dogs. Knows several words. Has not eaten or drank water since 2015-06-29. Last seen flying In Lincoln, NE. from Starr and Scenic in tree, flew off towards south, possibly between Vine, Holdrege, and 70th and 84th streets. Never been outside before. Has been high in trees. Wild birds keep attacking him. Falcons and Hawks in this area. Please look up into the tree’s and listen for a ruckus from the wild birds trying to attack him. His name is Opus. Have had him for 23 years. Very hungry and thirsty. Hand tame. Knows many words, hungry, water, drink, Opus, good bird, good boy, come here, Crackers, grapes, apple, Who, 1,2,3 4 and many other words too.
